THE VACUUM CLEANER
This method is for the housework fanatic who vacuums the house
every day! If this is you, here's a method specially for you.
Here's how to generate lottery numbers by means of vacuum
cleaning. Each day, after you've finished vacuuming, empty the
dust out of the machine and put it in a brown paper bag or wrap
it up in a parcel. Put it somewhere safe. Put the dust into a
separate bag or parcel each day, so on Saturday you've got six
bags and a "bonus bag". Go to the Post Office to buy
your lottery ticket and put these bags or parcels on the scales
which are provided for weighing parcels. Take the last two digits
of the weight in grammes. If it's more than fifty, subtract 50.
Only if the answer is 50 or 00 use the "bonus bag". Now
put your six numbers on the form, enter the lottery, and put the
bags of muck in the litter bin before leaving.
Star quality: A novel use of a waste product which normally has
no value or use.
Drawbacks: The carrying of seven bags of muck along to the Post
Office, and the fact that you've had to store the stuff all week,
something which would be particularly objectionable to the sort
of people who vacuum every day!
If everyone did this, the Post Office would have a problem with
the disposal of large quantities of domestic waste.
