The lottery machines are assumed
to be random in their selection of the winning numbers, therefore
in theory any set of numbers you choose has an equal chance of
winning. But if you win you may have to share the winnings with
other people who have picked the same numbers. It therefore pays
to pick numbers which are less likely to have been picked by
other people. Most people choose birthdays and "lucky
numbers" which tend to be the smaller numbers.
There are some ways of choosing numbers which are extremely bad,
because if those numbers came up, the prize would be shared
between all those who had exactly the same idea about choosing
